Victoria’s Cheese and Meat Festival has just announced their 2019 dates, and we’re already drooling.
The annual event showcases some of the best local and international cheeses, meats, and drinks to pair them with. Just make sure to come hungry!
“The biggest advice we like to give the guests of the festival is to come empty-handed,” festival founder Dave Bain told Victoria Buzz.
“When you arrive at the festival you are given a charcuterie board (that you get to keep) and a wine glass which keeps your hands very busy. You then walk around the Festival grounds tasting creations of the artisan food and beverage vendors.”
A beam and brick venue
While previous festivals were held at Victoria’s Crystal Gardens, this year’s event will take place at the Roundhouse at Bayview Place.
The new location is the perfect fit for the growing festival, with exposed brick and enduring wooden beams lending the space an authentic west coast vibe.
“We moved the festival to grow the boutique and rustic feel that we want the festival to represent,” said Bain. “Our vendors come from farms, small shops, and most importantly artisan backgrounds.”
“Personally, I am very excited to be working in such a historic building that is rooted in the culture of Victoria. The grounds are beautiful old beam and brick construction that really lends it hand to a setting that is stand-alone in Victoria.”
The Cheese and Meat Festival is set to take place in May, but eager fans should pick up tickets early before they sell out!
