Saanich Police searching for missing woman who walked away from emergency room (UPDATED)

Update: Missing woman Amanda Unger was located safe and sound on Tuesday, March 12th.

Saanich police say that Unger noticed herself in local media and contacted authorities to check in. She had walked away from a hospital emergency room on March 8th, not intending to cause concern.

Saanich Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing woman.

Amanda Unger was reported missing by staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on March 8th after she left the building’s emergency room without notice.

Since then, police have not been able to contact her or her fiancé, and neither of them have posted any updates on their social media accounts.

Unger is described as a Caucasian woman standing 5’4” and weighing 110 pounds. According to Saanich Police’s Sgt. Chris Horsley, she changes her hair colour frequently, but was last seen having brown hair with yellow highlights.

After leaving the ER, she was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.
