More than 8,000 runners, walkers, and wheelers took to streets of downtown Victoria on Sunday morning for the 30th annual TC10K, taking advantage of the always beautiful and scenic route complemented by ideal conditions and sunny skies.

Victoria Buzz was on location to live stream the event for the first time ever thanks to our sponsors The Bay Centre and Sitka Law Group.

And in case you missed it, you can still watch the video here!

This year’s TC10K drew 8,911 total participants, which included 5,251 women and 3,655 men. The 1.5K Thrifty Foods Family Fun Run also had almost 800 children who took part, not included in the above total!

Aside from the enthusiastic spectators and massive crowds, the excitement was palpable as Scotland native Sarah Inglis broke the women’s race record that morning, winning the 30th annual TC10K in 32 minutes and 24 seconds.

Vancouverite Dayna Pidhoresky, who was last year’s TC10K winner and was projected to be another top contender this year, was unfortunately among the many who were unable to make it to Victoria due to Saturday’s ferry cancellations.

In the men’s division, Haron Sirma of Kenya successfully posted a time of 29:38 to better his victorious time of 29:49 from 2018.

Jen Millar placed 6th in the women’s division of the race overall, and was the highest placing female from Victoria. Matt Noseworthy topped the men’s charts, being the first in his class from Victoria, and ranking 9th in the men’s category overall.
