BC Ferries cancels several sailings due to strong winds Saturday morning

As promised, Saturday morning brought with it heavy wind gusts of up to 90 km/h and even as high as 110 km/h for some parts of Vancouver Island.

Several BC Ferries sailings this morning were cancelled as a result, with more announcements being made on Twitter every few minutes.

Here are all the cancellations on Saturday morning as of the time of publication:

  • Comox (Little River) – Powell River (Westview)
    • 6:15 a.m. departing Comox
    • 8:05 a.m. departing Powell River
  • Cortes Island (Whaletown) – Quadra Island (Heriot Bay)
    • 9:05 a.m. departing Quadra Island
    • 9:50 a.m. departing Cortes Island
  • Comox (Little River) – Powell River (Westview)
    • 9:55 a.m. departing Comox
    • 11:50 a.m. departing Powell River
