Calling all theatre enthusiasts!

The Canadian College of Performing Arts is bringing Broadway musical West Side Story to the McPherson Playhouse, starting Friday, April 19th.

For those unfamiliar with it, this 1957 classic is inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and is set during the mid-1950’s in New York’s Upper West Side.

In Victoria, a cast of 55 performers and a live 14-piece orchestra will bring to life the story of two teenagers from rival street gangs who fall in love as their gangs wage war in the city streets.

Prepare to be mesmerized by the play’s exceptional choreography, unforgettable score, and storyline which deals with prominent social issues, such as bigotry and racial injustice, which are relevant even today.

This is the much awaited final production of the Canadian College of Performing Arts’ 2018-19 season and tickets are selling out fast, so grab yours while they’re still available!
