Comox Valley RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 58-year-old man, Stephen Mapes.

Mapes was first reported missing to Surrey RCMP on April 2nd, 2019, but the investigation has since been handed over to the Comox Valley RCMP. The last time he was seen was in Courtenay on March 27th.

While police say they are still in the process of investigating multiple leads, Mapes remains missing.

His family says that it is very out of character for him to be out of contact for so long and are very concerned for his well being.

Mapes is described as a Caucasian man standing 6’ tall with a small build. He has short grey hair and blue eyes. Police say that he is also associated with a black Ford F-150 pick-up truck with BC Licence plate: DOGRVR.

Comox Valley RCMP have released surveillance footage of Mapes leaving a grocery store. He is wearing a blue pullover sweater with a black shirt underneath in the footage.
