Victoria’s first two legal private cannabis dispensaries are now open

Share

After nearly 5 months since cannabis was legalized in Canada, Victoria’s first two licensed recreational dispensaries have opened for business.

The two downtown retailers opened over the past two days, with 778 Fort Street’s Cloud Nine opening on Sunday afternoon and 1402 Douglas Street’s the Original FARM opening Monday morning.

The two dispensaries were among five that were recommended for municipal business licensing by city staff in March.

The three other dispensaries still under review are two Clarity Cannabis stores and one other Original Farm location. While the application hasn’t received final approval, the Original Farm expects their second location at Hillside to open sometime in May.

Both Cloud Nine and the Original Farm will sell products made by Canadian licensed producers through the BC Liquor Distribution Branch.

The two dispensaries are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
