One person is dead and two others are in hospital with serious injuries after a “‘very violent struggle” at a home in Brentwood Bay early Saturday morning.

In a press conference, Central Saanich Police Chief Const. Les Sylven said police were called to a residence in the 7200-block of Meadowlark Lane at about 12:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers immediately found signs of a violent struggle inside the home and located three victims, including the deceased person.

Unconfirmed sources tell Victoria Buzz that one female and two males were stabbed. The suspect fled in a white vehicle and was later arrested on the Trans Canada Highway.

A 4-year-old child was found safe in bed inside the home.

Police do not believe that the attack was random.
