The wait is over for Langford residents!
The new Thrifty Foods grocery store at Belmont Market is officially open, making it the second of its kind in the West Shore.
Plans to build the 200,000 sq. ft. Belmont Market Shopping Centre were first announced in 2016 and today, three years later, its main anchor store has opened its doors.

The grand opening of the Thrifty Foods Belmont Market location was celebrated with $10 gift cards given to its first 250 customers, as well as a local band, food trucks,
food samples, coffee and cake, and grand opening specials on several products.
Celebrations will continue into Friday, with ongoing specials, food sampling, and in-store demos taking place.
“We are very excited and proud to open our new Thrifty Foods Belmont Market Store in our amazing community of Langford,” said Brian Boizard, Store Manager.
“We’re grateful for the support that the local communities have shown us, and we look forward to providing an exceptional, one-stop shopping experience in our new store”.
A team of 120 staff members will be servicing this 52,000 sq. ft. which will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week.
Characteristic of the Thrifty Foods chain, features of this store include in-season products from local farmers, a plant-based meat alternatives section and expanded vegan and vegetarian options, sustainably sourced fresh fish and lobster, a unique dry-aged beef program, full service bakery with made-in-store cheesecakes, a sushi bar, and range of ready to eat meal options from the Carvery and pizza ovens.
