Police have confiscated a pair of brass knuckles while breaking up a fight in a Timmie’s parking lot in Langford.

On Monday, April 29th, officers attended the scene a physical fight between two teenagers in the Tim Horton’s parking lot at 2945 Jacklin Road.

One of the teenagers involved was arrested for assault, after which police conducted a search of his person and found a pair of brass knuckles in his pockets as well as a fixed blade knife in his backpack.

While witnesses told investigators that the two youths were “play fighting” and neither weapon was used during the incident, police seized the brass knuckles as they are considered a prohibited weapon.

“This fight looked real enough for a concerned member [of] the public to call us,” says Cst. Nancy Saggar.

“Our officers could have charged the teenager criminally for possession of a prohibited weapon, however in this case the youth was issued a by-law ticket for fighting in public.”
