Employees working in Sidney now have access to 167 new units of free parking, thanks to the municipality.
Last Friday, May 17th, the Town of Sidney held a grand opening ceremony for the official Sidney Downtown Employee Parking Lot.
Located right next to the Mary Winspear Centre, these 167 new stalls demarcated by distinctive blue lines offer free daily parking for all downtown Sidney employees everyday except between midnight and 6 a.m.

There’s no limit to how long you can park in these stalls, as long as you move your vehicle by midnight!
The lot stands adjacent to town’s new Community Safety Building from which the Sidney Fire Department has recently begun operating.
BC Ambulance Service is expected to move in to the building by mid-June and, once fully operational, the CSB will house the Peninsula Emergency Measures Organization and a Capital Region Emergency Service Telecommunications Inc (CREST) transmission site.
It will also serve as an important training facility and emergency operations centre.
