West Shore RCMP aren’t kidding around.

Officers arrested a 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl for spray painting public property on Sunday, May 5th.

They were part of a group of youth who were witnessed spray painting a building and hydro box near the bus exchange on Station Avenue in Langford.

“Defacing public and private property [affects] the community in several ways. One of which is the sheer cost of cleaning up the damage, but also graffiti has the potential to attract other criminal activity to the area,” said Cst. Saggar of the West Shore RCMP.

Both girls who were identified and arrested by police were later released to their parents, and are required to appear in court.
