An Oak Bay homeowner took matters into their own hands on Saturday night after awakening to the sounds of someone breaking into their home.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 8th, Oak Bay Police were called to the 3200 block of Woodburn Avenue for a report of a break and enter in progress.
By the time officers arrived, however, no suspect remained at the location as the homeowner had chased them out of their property.

According to police, the victim awoke in the middle of the night and found a stranger in their home. Before calling Oak Bay PD, the resident confronted the trespasser and sent them running.
Police then investigated the scene with a forensic services and K-9 unit team.
Investigators say that no description of the suspect has been determined, and that there have been no similar incidents reported in the area.
