Are you ready for a weekend filled with music, artisans and entertainment – with a French flair?
For more than 20 years, the Francophone Society of Victoria has been presenting multi-cultural artists from across the world in this much-anticipated festival that’s returning June 21st to 23rd in downtown’s Market Square.
From delicious eats, to global art an abundance of kid-friendly activities, the family-oriented Rendez-Vous Victoria has a little bit of something for everyone – and entry to the festival is entirely free!
Musical acts during the festival will include Alpha Yaya Diallo, a singer and guitarist from Guinea, who is the one of the most internationally recognized musicians of world music, and Boogát, a Canadian-Mexican musician from Québec who has won many prizes and mixes hip-hop with Latin music such as Cumbia, Salsa and more!
Aside from Zumba demonstrations both Saturday and Sunday, artists such as Trio Swing Futur, Mimosa and Quartet Nick Mintenko will also grace the stage – sure to have you dancing all weekend long!
French culture has no age limit, so prepare to enjoy shows, activities, balloons, makeup, and games for kids and parents alike! The Scout organization will also be there with bracelet-making activities, and there will be ice cream, a photobooth, and a community art project to take part in.
People will also have the chance to meet many organizations and members of the francophone and francophile community, such as Alliance Française of Victoria who will sell used french books all weekend, and Les Jeux de la Francophonie Canadienne 2020 who will host the French games in Victoria!
Also, come hungry! Rendez-Vous Victoria will feature some great francophone culinary culture alongside all of the fun activities they have to offer.
