What better way to celebrate summer in all of its glory than to indulge in the Gallery’s biggest event of the year?

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is hosting their annual TD Art Gallery Paint-In on Saturday, July 20th and this year’s line-up of exciting events promises to be better than ever!

Happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Moss Street will be lined with an abundance of artists, entertainers and vendors for a day full of fun festivities and art – local style.

Whether it’s cool cultured projects you’re after, some hands-on family activities, or just a fun day in the sun with friends, the Paint-In has a little bit of something for everyone.

Without further ado, here are 6 reasons why you’ll want to attend this year’s TD Art Gallery Paint-In!

1. The sheer amount of local presenting artists is impressive

With OVER 190 different artists showcasing their work and various styles and methods, there will be something for all walks of life – an art-lovers paradise!

There’s even more to feast your eyes on. The Paint-In is organized by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (did you know that this event is actually their largest fundraiser of the year?) and their doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Saturday. Browse their newest contemporary art shows – it’s admission by donation!

3. There will be a family (and dog!) friendly beverage garden on site

Yes, you read that right! The beer garden will feature beverages from Lighthouse Brewing Company, Mission Hill Winery, Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse and Victoria Soda Works – so come thirsty.

4. So many delicious food choices!

Food vendors include Ali Baba Pizza, Greek on the Street, Victoria Oven, Shatterbox Coffee Bar, Lemon Heaven, Rogers Chocolates and Wannawafel. Also, joining them this year is Uni-corn Treats (gourmet popcorn) and Kattia’s Kitchen!

5. Hands-on fun

With a number of Imagination Stations set up for all to take part in, you can get your own creative juices flowing! Also, for your furry friends, don’t forget to stop by the pet station from Bosley’s Pets.

6. Tons of live entertainment!

You can jam away to live music at the Art Gallery from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. with performances by Arlene & Oscar (original Canadiana with a tropical flair), Steph MacPherson (indie-folk), Corduroy (dream pop), Pastel Blank (funky post-punk), and Bridal Party (jangly indie pop).
