A range of police and health authorities are investigating the death of a baby girl in Sooke earlier this week.
According to the BC Coroners Service, the tragic death of the infant girl occurred on Monday, July 22nd.
“The BC Coroners Service can confirm that it is in the early stages of a fact-finding investigation into the July 22 death of a female infant in Sooke,” said the agency in a statement.
“Our fact-finding investigation will determine how, where, when and by what means the female infant came to her death.”
Besides the Coroners Service, RCMP and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating the event.
No further details have been released by the health agency or police at this time.
