That’s one reason why Victoria is home to 9 of the most scenic eateries in Canada, according to international restaurant information website, OpenTable.

OpenTable recently released their list of the top 100 most scenic restaurants in Canada, based on the reviews of customers.

In total, Ontario was the province with the most scenic restaurants on the list, with 42, while BC came in second with 35, and Alberta rang in third with 12.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate summer travel season than with this list of restaurants with some of the nation’s most stunning vistas,” said Caroline Potter, OpenTable’s Chief Dining Officer in a statement.

“Whether you’re a local or a traveler, these winning spots are a terrific way to soak up a city’s charms while dining on delicious fare.”

While Ontario beat out BC for total number of restaurants on the list, cities in the west coast had the highest concentration of scenic eateries.

Vancouver was home to the most restaurants on the list, with 11, while humble Victoria tied with the larger metropolis of Toronto with a total of 9 beautiful restaurants each.

To form their top 100 most scenic restaurant list, OpenTable collected the reviews of diners between June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019, and based their ranking on customers’ overall dining rating, number of reviews, and use of the special “scenic views” tag in ratings.

The 9 Victoria restaurants to make it on the country-wide list, in no particular order, is below:

  • The Beach House Restaurant
  • Blue Crab Seafood House
  • Finn’s Seafood, Chops and Cocktails
  • Glo Restaurant + Lounge
  • The Keg Steakhouse + Bar
  • Marina Restaurant
