Vancouver Island man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested in Nanaimo

A Vancouver Island man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant issued on Tuesday was arrested in Nanaimo on Wednesday afternoon.

29-year-old Jesse Wayne Goodale was wanted for breaching his statutory release at the Salvation Army Community Residential Facility in downtown Victoria.

Goodale had been staying at the halfway house since July 4th, and was last seen leaving the facility on the night of July 22nd before his arrest on Wednesday.

Before his stay at the community facility, he had been originally sentenced to a four year and ten-month sentence for Aggravated Assault.

Nanaimo RCMP say that Goodale was arrested at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. He was taken into custody without incident from an undisclosed south end Nanaimo business.

He was held in custody overnight and is expected to appear in Nanaimo Provincial court on Thursday.
