One of Victoria’s favourite beer-inspired events is returning to the city this year and it’s expected to be the biggest one yet!
The 27th annual Great Canadian Beer Festival is returning to the Royal Athletic Park this September and will Feature over 90 Canadian craft breweries that hail from coast to coast.
“Canada is emerging as a world-class craft beer destination,” said Joe Wiebe, co-founder of the Victoria Beer Society.
“We’re thrilled to host breweries from all across the country this September, positioning the Great Canadian Beer Festival as Canada’s truly national craft beer festival.”

With support from the Canadian Craft Brewers Association, this year’s event will showcase breweries from BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, the Yukon, the Maritimes, and more.
BC, however, will account for the majority of the breweries at the festival with a total of 60 companies participating, including Spinnakers Brewpub and Vancouver Island Brewing, which helped kick off the craft beer movement back in 1984.
Besides sampling the delicious beers of nearly 100 Canadian breweries, the festival will include a wide array of cideries, food trucks, music, and more.
A BC “Ale Trail-er” will also be parked at the festival that will serve a selection of beers from breweries across the province that would otherwise not be able to attend the festival.
