A large number of police have converged at a residence in Langford Tuesday evening.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m., the West Shore RCMP responded to an incident on Station Avenue.
Several streets near in the area have been blocked off including, Peatt Road, Orono Avenue, Meaford Avenue and Phipps Road at Ravilo Place.
“We ask that the public remain patient with police and stay away from the area during our investigation,” said West Shore Const. Nancy Saggar in a press release. “The West Shore RCMP will provide updates as they come in.”
Residents who live in the area are asked to stay inside their homes at this time.
An unconfirmed source tells Victoria Buzz an individual has barricaded themselves in a suite of a condo and is armed with a handgun.
