Here are 7 reasons why you need to sail away to Seattle this summer:
1. The newest (bigger!) Victoria Clipper V makes travel easy
The high-speed Victoria Clipper V catamaran is a big, stable ferry that cruises at 36 knots and takes you from downtown Victoria to downtown Seattle in less than 3 hours.
Enjoy some of the tasty locally-sourced and freshly prepared meals and beverages from the on-board menu, all while taking in the Pacific Northwest’s most scenic views of the Salish Sea – you may even spot a pod of Orcas en route!
The new and improved Clipper even features a Comfort Class upgrade for only $25 USD with priority boarding, a private spacious cabin and complimentary coffee, tea and snacks. Or if the second deck is more your jam, for only $10 USD you can level up to the Vista Class with upstairs seating, leather seats and panoramic windows for a stellar view!
2. Enjoy luxury in the heart of city at the Hyatt Regency Seattle
Located in the heart of the downtown core, Hyatt Regency Seattle is one of the Emerald City’s newest hotels. Close to Seattle’s must-see attractions, including the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Pike Place Market, and more. The largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest, it offers three restaurants and bars, complimentary access to a state of the art fitness center and wifi in the guest rooms.
3. Sample some of the best oysters on the West Coast
Puget Sound is infamous for producing sweet, plump oysters – which is why so many places in Seattle feature them on their menu! There do happen to be a few that stand out above the rest, including The Walrus and the Carpenter, and any of the three restaurants run by one of Washington State’s major oyster producers, Taylor Shellfish Farms.
4. Catch a Seattle Sounders soccer match
Soccer fans rejoice! Experience the electric atmosphere at CenturyLink Field as the Seattle Sounders FC take on their opponents in many of the summer season’s matchups – single game tickets are available!
5. Check out summer at SAM
The Seattle Art Museum is worth a visit for just the exhibitions, but also offers a ton of public programs and performances, including periodic parties called SAM Remix that turn the museum space into a nightclub, and their annual Summer of Sam at the Sculpture Park in Belltown, which features tons of activities over the warmer months.

The series brings live music to the Mural Amphitheatre stage for end-of-the-week entertainment featuring some of the region’s best music – along with noted national artists – starting at 5:00 PM, Fridays in August, at Seattle Center. 21+ beer garden will open at 4:30 PM for Happy Hour with DJ Troy Nelson.
7. Grab a drink on a rooftop patio
You may be able to do this many different places, but there really is nothing like partaking in a particularly tasty beverage atop a rooftop in Seattle! You can check out places like mbar, where the sprawling outdoor space offers uninterrupted views of Lake Union, or the 12th-floor Nest Downtown overlooking Elliott Bay.
