33-year-old man arrested for allegedly robbing a BC Transit driver in Central Saanich

Central Saanich Police have arrested 33-year-old Jordan David Tahouney for allegedly robbing a driver operating a BC Transit bus.

At around 8 p.m. on Monday, August 26th, a passenger on the route 75 bus approached the bus driver, assaulted them, and demanded their wallet.

The driver handed over their wallet and, fortunately, was physically uninjured during this encounter.

According to CS Police Deputy Chief Derren Lench, a suspect was located by officers with the help of members of the public soon after the incident occurred.

After an initial court appearance, Jordan Tahouney was charged with Robbery under Section 344 of the Criminal Code and will remain in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for September 11th.
