Folk dance performances
Each year, the organizers of Greek Fest bring in renowned artists from all over the world to perform at their festival, and this year is no different.
The highlight of the event is Elkelam Dance group who have travelled here all the way from Athens to put on yet another impressive performance this year.
Other groups to look out for are Anemos Greek Dancers, Tharros Greek Dance Academy, and even performances from other cultural groups, such as Sampaguita Dance group, who will perform a Philipino folk dance, and Scottish Country Dancers, a local dance group based in Victoria.
No festival is complete without live musical performances, and this year’s line up of artists is quite considerable.
From Kouskous World Folk Music bringing in the rhythms of Eastern Europe, to White Eagle Band who play Polish music, there is sure to be something that pleases even those with the most specific tastes.
Their mouth watering menu features classic Greek food and desserts including houmous and pita, wrapped souvlaki, gyros and of course, baklava!
In case you want to learn how to make some of these treats, the festival will also host cooking classes on Friday, August 23rd and August 30th at 2:55 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Seniors can also enjoy 10% off on the first day, August 23rd.
In addition to enjoying the festivities, visitors can also partake in Church tours at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. every day of the festival as an opportunity to learn about the Greek Orthodox Church.
