Arizona — the makers of an iced tea brand that can be purchased in iconic tall green cans — has partnered with an American cannabis producer to create their own line of cannabis-infused products.
The company is working with Dixie Brands Inc., a cannabis CPG company based in Colorado, to create products that contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive compound in cannabis.
Through the partnership, Arizona will be responsible for branding and product conceptual design, while Dixie Brands Inc. will develop, formulate, and manage its manufacturing and distribution.

“AriZona has always led the way in product innovation,” said Don Vultaggio, Chairman of Arizona Beverages in a statement.
“The cannabis market is an important emerging category, and we’ve maintained our independence as a private business to be positioned to lead and seize generation-defining opportunities exactly like this one.”
Currently, the initial terms of the partnership have outlined a three year business arrangement. Following the initial term, two more two-year terms are available for renewal, meaning that the partnership could last up to 7 years.
“AriZona is a power brand and [Dixie Brands is] the most iconic and recognized CPG brand to extend into the cannabis market, providing the evolving cannabis consumer with a fun and flavorful experience alongside an iconic brand they know and love,” said Chuck Smith, CEO of Dixie Brands in a statement.
With products and flavours still in development, no firm launch date for Arizona’s cannabis infused products has been released yet, or if/when the products will hit BC shelves.
