Not gone long and certainly not forgotten, fan-favourite Griffen Outhouse has been on the minds of many Royals fans since his departure at the end of the season – and it appears the former Victoria netminder is making moves towards his future!
It was recently announced that Outhouse – who aged out of the junior hockey league this past 2018-19 season – has been invited to the Winnipeg Jets Rookie Camp, which is happening from September 6th-9th in Belleville, Ontario.
The popular Victoria alumnus played four seasons with the Royals, with a total of 196 games under his belt – in the 2018-19 season, his record consisted of a 2.81 goals against average, and a save percentage of .913%.
And he’s in good company! Former Victoria Royals defenceman Scott Walford has also been asked to the Jets Rookie Camp, though recently traded to the Saskatoon Blades before the start of the current WHL season.
Walford played for the Royals from 2016-2019, ending last season with a record of 9 goals and 2 assists.
