Another major shake-up in staffing has just occurred at one of Victoria’s most prominent radio stations.

Sources within the industry, who have requested to remain anonymous, tell Victoria Buzz that KiSS 103.1 has laid off their morning show hosts, Dez Fernando and Jay Hatton (Dez & Jay), as well as their afternoon show host, Johnny Novak.

This is the second set of major cut backs made by the company in the past year.

Back in November 2018, KiSS 103.1 let go of morning show hosts, Vanessa Chiu and Tyler Barr (of Vanessa & Tyler), and afternoon announcer Bailey Parker.

At the time, they were replaced by the three personalities that have now allegedly been booted off the station.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding the direction KiSS 103.1 is going to take now, there remains speculation that they are preparing to switch to a Country music genre format.

The company, owned by Rogers Media, flipped to a modern-hit station in 2015 from its original brand ‘Jack FM’ which was launched in 2004.

KiSS 103.1 FM could not be reached for comment in time for publication.
