A large number of emergency crews and medical services have been dispatched to a serious collision that occurred north of Nanaimo this morning.
The incident involved a semi-truck and another vehicle at the junction of Ware Road and Island Highway on Wednesday morning.
Police, fire crews, and ambulances are on site, along with two emergency helicopters.
Nanaimo RCMP say that southbound traffic is being rerouted westbound onto Superior Road.
The highway is expected to be closed for at least an hour.
