A drunk driver was arrested on Thursday after police discovered a car, with a cooler of open beers in the front seat, dangling off the elevated sidewalk of Willows Beach.
According to Oak Bay Police, the driver had their license suspended for three months, had their car impounded, and are facing a number of hefty fines.

To commemorate the driver’s foolish and illegal actions, Oak Bay Police released a series of tongue-in-cheek Tweets about their investigation.

Police ended their series of tweets with a reminder to arrange safe rides if you plan on drinking alcohol, especially when heading into the weekend.
“Today is Friday, please plan your rides now if you’re partaking tonight,” reads an OBPD Tweet.
“This driver could’ve hurt or even killed someone. He was lucky…”
