RCMP searching for missing Vancouver Island woman who failed to return from trip to Edmonton

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 36-year-old woman, Rachelle Dawn Walton.

Walton has not been seen or heard from since June 28th, 2019. However, she was not reported missing until July 23rd, after she failed to return to the island after a planned trip to Edmonton where she visited friends and family.

Investigators believe that Walton has her phone. However, police have been unable to contact her.

She is described as an Indigenous woman who stands 5’ 5” and weighs approximately 120 pounds.

The images of her provided by RCMP are considered recent.

Anyone with information on the location of Walton is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345. Alternatively, people can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
