What’s better than hitting 18 holes on a beautiful day?
A day-long golf tournament that includes lunch, a tee prize, dinner and the chance to support a fantastic cause!
United Way of Greater Victoria is hosting their first golf tournament this September, to bring awareness to #UNIGNORABLE issues such as homeslessness, mental health and addiction, and social isolation.
Taking place at the beautiful and prestigious Victoria Golf Club on September 19th, the day-long event promises to be a fun-filled way to give back to the community – but act fast to grab your tickets, as these ones won’t last long!
“This is our first golf tournament and we are elated to be holding it at the spectacular Victoria Golf Club,” says Mark Breslauer, CEO, United Way Greater Victoria. “Funds raised will be invested in our community to help tackle #UNIGNORABLE issues that are holding people back in our community. We aspire to have a strong and inclusive community for all.”
For golf-players, it gets even better! United Way of Greater Victoria is giving away a TaylorMade golf bag worth $200, so you’ll be set to hit the turf in no time.
The day will include a BBQ lunch before you tee off, the actual golf portion, cocktails, a buffet dinner and a tee gift. Plus you’ll be entered into a draw to win even more prizes – like a trip to Pebble Beach in Monterey, California – and have a chance to bid on some stunning items during a live auction.
United Way Greater Victoria funds a network of programs and services across the CRD and Southern Gulf Islands that reach and serve our most vulnerable populations so that everyone has the opportunity to live a good life.
In our busy world, important local social issues such as mental health and addictions, poverty, social isolation, and homelessness can be ignored or go unnoticed. The issues are big, complex and often take hold over many years. Too many people are being left behind.
In In 2018/19 United Way invested $3.68 million into local programs and services changing more than 80,000 people’s lives for the better.
United Way’s Charity Golf Tournament is one of several special events that will jump start their 2019 campaign and will be an opportunity for workplaces, individuals and sponsors to come together in support of funding a network of services working hard to create opportunities for everyone in our community to reach their full potential.
