Another Royals fan favourite has been invited to join the ranks of NHLers this pre-season, making it the third former Victoria player to receive an invitation.
Forward Dante Hannoun, a 21-year-old center who played five seasons with the Royals, has officially received an invite to join the Boston Bruins Prospect Challenge – a round-robin tournament featuring rookies from various teams.
Hannoun played for the Victoria Royals from 2014-2019, before most recently being traded to the Prince Albert Raiders – he recorded 19 goals and 17 assists in his 2018-19 season with the Royals, and 10 goals, 21 assists with this past season with the Raiders.
This news comes on the heels of the announcement that former Royals players Griffen Outhouse and Scott Walford have also received invites from the NHL – both players heading to the Winnipeg Jets training camp this pre-season.
