The good news just keeps on coming for Victoria Royals’ alumni Griffen Outhouse.
The fan-favourite most recently attended the Winnipeg Jets’ Rookie Showcase event in Belleville, Ontario after receiving an invite as an undrafted rookie, and it was announced today that the Jets’ AHL affiliate team had signed him to a one-year contract.
21-year old Outhouse spent this past 2018-19 season in Victoria with the Royals, where he posted a 27-16-1 record with a 2.81 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 46 games with the local club.

Over 196 games in total with the Victoria team, the netminder tallied a career 2.77 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage, while boasting a 114-60-15 record – this made him first among Victoria’s franchise leaders in games played by a goalie, and he also currently sits seventh in WHL history for most wins collected by a goaltender.
Griffen dressed on September 8th for the Winnipeg Jets’ rookie camp, and stopped 20 shots in a 2-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens rookies.
On top of signing Outhouse, the Moose’s 2019 training camp roster also includes one other goaltender, six defencemen and eleven forwards, and they kick off their season’s home-opener on October 11th.
A huge congrats to @outhouse40 on signing his first pro deal with the @ManitobaMoose of the @TheAHL! #AlwaysARoyal https://t.co/6Qhp6en3fj
