It’s an end-of-summer tradition like no other in Victoria.

As the kids head back to school and the grown-ups grumble about PSLs and fall fashion being back too soon, there’s one major event that’s bound to lift everyone’s spirits – the annual Esquimalt Ribfest!

This family favourite event features everything you need in a quality BBQ party – particularly a wide variety of juicy, fall-off-the-bone ribs.

Brews, ribs, live music

All of Bullen Park will be dedicated to sensationalizing your taste buds, soothing your ear drums, and showing your kids a great time, especially at their free kids’ zone.

Wrapped in all of this fun and community will be 6 Ribbers engaging in a battle of taste as they try and win over the panel of celebrity judges.

They will present their cuisine to the panel, and two awards will be given: Best Sauce and Best Ribs.

Fear not, you get a say too! A third award, The People’s Choice Award, will also be dished out, and Ribfest attendees are encouraged to place their votes.

Our six Ribbers will be offering delicious options ranging from beef and pork ribs to barbecued chicken.

This year’s squad features:

  • Grizzly Ribs
  • Misty Mountain
  • Prairie Smoke & Spice
  • Gator BBQ
  • Boss Hog’s
  • Hucklebelly’s

Bring the kids over for a game of bubble soccer

Whether your kid has energy to burn or you’re looking to try out a new sport, no child or adult shall be left behind at Ribfest 2019.

There will be a game of giant bubble soccer with an inflated force-field of sorts. All participants are thus fully protected from all bumps and bruises. Cost for Bubble Soccer is $5 per 15 minutes.

Crafts, button making, colouring, rib bib design, and oodles of carnival games will also be available for those who prefer less exhausting activities after a day of delicious rib-consumption.
