Central Saanich police are searching for witnesses to an incident where a man allegedly fired a handgun at a beach in Island View Regional Park.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5th, officers responded to reports of a male firing a handgun at the beach.
Once they arrived, police were able to locate the suspect and the handgun. The man was taken into custody and his weapon has been seized.
According to a statement by Central Saanich police, several beachgoers observed the incident, and officers are now looking to speak to witnesses.
