Two Vancouver Island residents were ecstatic to find themselves the winners of a whopping $5 million in a Lotto 6/49 game last month.

Jesse Logan and Teresa Winters Day picked up a Mini Dip ticket pack at their local 7-Eleven store in Nanaimo, and were at home when they checked their tickets to find out they had won.

The pair had just recently began playing Lotto 6/49 together and both have big plans for the money.

“I will be able to spoil my kids”  Winters Day said, “I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland… that’s the first thing I’ll do with my kids, and then go on a shopping spree”.

On the other hand Logan’s dreams of pursuing his passion for music recording are now being pushed to the next level, as he plans to build a recording studio. But first, he plans to gift some of his winnings to his family.

“I will be able to help my family out and that is something I have always wanted to do,” he said. “We didn’t have much growing up, but my parents did the best they could. I am excited to give back to them”.

In 2019 so far, British Columbian lottery players have redeemed more than $64 million in prize winning Lotto 6/49 tickets.

Last year, Vancouver Islanders claimed a total $20 million in lottery jackpots.
