A slightly cloudy October Monday brings us some fun events both indoors and outdoors.

Whether you plan to march for the climate or prefer to watch a documentary on the big screen, we’ve got you covered with those activities and more!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria today:

BridgeOut Victoria 

Did you miss the last month’s climate change demonstrations but still want to have your voice heard? The #BridgeOut campaign will be occupying the Johnson Street Bridge to block out motor vehicle traffic while only allowing emergency vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians through. 

  • When: 3:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Meeting at the small plaza at Store Street and Pandora Avenue

Birch Tree Autumn

Join in on this fall-inspired paint night with guide Alex the Artist no matter your experience level. You can also take home your work and remember this fall for years to come! 

  • When: 6:30 p.m. 
  • Where: Fernwood Inn, 1302 Gladstone Avenue 

Pierre Schryer’s Monthly Mini-Concert & Open Trad Music Session

Fiddler Pierre Schryer hosts an event with a different guest each month, and following his performance, there will be an Open Trad Music Session! 

This is an all-ages event and enthusiasts of all levels of experience are welcome to attend the music session.

Reel on the River 

Watch director Alex Holmes chronicles on Tracy Edward’s 1989-1990 sea voyage with an all-women crew on the big screen!

American Crown Circus and Circo Osorio 

An international cast brings a Circus act alive with performers from Mexico, Romania, Russia, Argentina, Belarus, Chile, and the United States!

  • When: 7:00 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Where: Bullen Park Esquimalt, 1150 Lyall Street
