One day ahead of Russell Books’ soft opening of their new downtown Victoria location, we’re here to provide you with a sneak peek in case you can’t make it for their Guinness World Record attempt tomorrow!
Downtown Victoria staple Russell Books are finalizing their relocation just across the street to 747 Fort Street (the former Staples building).
On Thursday, November 14th, the owners will be attempting to build the tallest stack of Guinness World Record books in an effort to set a new world record.
The public will be able to view the world record attempt from the top floor despite the lower level remaining closed to customers until the end of the month as staff continue to prepare for the grand opening.

Prior to them opening the doors to the public for the first time Thursday, Victoria Buzz was invited to the new store today for a sneak peek.
This transition is a massive expansion for the business, as the new store is 18,000 sq. ft. – that’s 6,000 sq. ft more space than their current location.
It also provides improved accessibility, as the building comes equipped with an elevator, an escalator, a loading bay in the back for when shipments come in, and a single storefront entrance.
