You won’t want to miss out on this quintessentially Victorian holiday tradition!
One of the tallest Christmas trees in the region will be lit during a festive celebration happening this weekend at Uptown Shopping Centre on Saturday, November 16th.
Santa Claus will light up the 54-foot-tall following a festive Christmas parade along Uptown Boulevard and you’re invited to watch it happen.
A parade along Uptown Boulevard featuring live marching bands, Disney princesses, mascots, local fire and police, Uptown tenants, Mrs. Claus and some very special surprises, will take place at 6:10 p.m., just before the tree light up at around 6:30 p.m.
Lots to see and do
Uptown Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 12 p.m. on Saturday and will remain car-free for the duration of the event.
Motorists can simply enter off Oak Street and turn left at the 4 way stop to access the ample parking spaces before walking over to the celebration.
All of their stores will be open until 8 p.m., including restaurants and markets like Sizzling Tandoor, The Chopped Leaf, Puerto Vallarta Amigos, Whole Foods Market, Erito Sushi, Browns Socialhouse, or Noodle Box, so you can eat and shop to your heart’s desire!
The Cottage at Uptown has also returned to be added to their holiday list this year, including days specifically for pet photos on December 3rd and 10th from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. – with all proceeds being donated to the BCSPCA!
