The $6.5 million sale of an oceanfront home in East Sooke has set the record for highest recorded sale of a property in the Greater Victoria Area for 2019.
According to Sotheby’s International Realty Canada, the sale also marks the second highest in history for the municipality of Sooke.

The oceanfront property on the border of Metchosin and Sooke, overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains, allowing both ocean and mountain views with exclusive privacy.
Located at 5179 East Sooke Road, the property includes a 5,672 square-foot custom smart home, a separate 882 square-foot guesthouse, and a 1,214 square-foot garage and workshop.
The home was custom designed by award winning Keith Baker and constructed by Christopher Developments in 2015.
Baker’s team, inspired by West Coast architecture, focussed on designing energy efficient homes using natural materials, with the goal of designing homes that are well integrated into their surroundings.

The property received both Canadian and international interest during its time on the market and was eventually purchased by an Ontario buyer.
