Two women injured near Campbell River after alleged fight involving weapons

Two women were taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a reported fight near Campbell River on Sunday.

At around 7 a.m. on November 24th, RCMP were called to the 1200 block of Bute Crescent in the Homalco Indigenous community after reports of a fight involving weapons.

Upon arrival, officers found two women suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and both were transported to hospital.

One of the women was later air-lifted to a hospital in Victoria for further treatment.

“This was an isolated incident and there are no safety concerns for the general public,” said Cst. Maury Tyre in a statement. Both women were known to each other.

RCMP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
