Victoria Police are looking to speak to a man who may have made concerning comments to an 11-year-old girl.

At around 8 a.m. on November 5th, a concerned parent reported that their 11-year-old daughter told them about an incident that occurred while she was walking in the area of Moss Street and Thurlow Road.

She stated that a man spoke to her and made potentially inappropriate comments, after which she continued to walk away.

While police are not revealing the exact content of the comment, it was described as potentially inappropriate.

“It’s the kind of comment that we really want to follow up on,” VicPD media spokesperson Bowen Osoko tells Victoria Buzz.

As the girl walked away, she last observed the man meet up with two other men standing near a white truck at the corner of Thurlow Road.

“The child involved did the absolute right thing. Continued walking, made sure she was safe, reported the incident to an adult,” said Osoko.

She was not physically injured during the incident.

Police are now looking to speak to the man and any witnesses involved.

He is described as a Caucasian male in his twenties, with brown hair, and may be associated to a rusty, older model blue car which was parked on Thurlow Road.

If you know who the man is, or have information about this incident, contact the VicPD non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654.

You can also report what you know anonymously by calling Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
