The highly anticipated ‘Lights of Wonder‘ display at Centennial Square will be officially lit up this weekend, following a brief delay in their original launch date.
The Downtown Victoria Business Association has announced that the fully immersive light experience will officially dazzle Victoria between December 20th and January 4th.
It will open to the public at 4 p.m. on December 20th – and Victoria Buzz will be there on location to celebrate!
Even better, the first 300 people to check-in at the information booth with us will receive a special “random acts of cozy” winter scarf courtesy of the Bay Centre.
There will be live entertainment as well, with the High Quadra Ramblers gracing the stage at 6 p.m.!
The Soup Kitchen will also be on site collecting warm socks and/or monetary donations! They’re a part of the 9-10 Club, ensuring no one is turned away and no one leaves hungry. They will also be at Centennial Square on December 27th and January 3rd!
The Soup Kitchen is located in the basement of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, 740 View Street, and is open from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Monday to Friday, all holidays except Christmas Day.
Joining in on the giving season, CFAX Santas Anonymous will be giving away Glo sticks while supplies last the next day on Saturday, December 21st and will have a draw by donation for 2 Canucks Tickets for a game in January!
They will also be there on December 28th, as well as January 4th and will be collecting gently used and new coats for kids in need.
The free massive light experience will now run for 13 days during the holiday season (closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve), and feature live entertainment, music, and more for the duration.
But all of this doesn’t happen by magic – which is why they’re looking for volunteers to join them under this stunning canopy of lights!
If you’re interested in lending a helping hand, you can register online right now!
