Victoria is no stranger to some class, sass, and ass – in fact, we’re living for it!

With a record of sold out shows in the capital city, event production company TFD Presents is bringing one of their most popular drag shows, ‘It’s Just Drag’, to Victoria for the second year in a row.

On January 23rd 2020, local Victoria drag artists will be joined by the iconic Emmy-winning series RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Monet X Change.

Brooke Lynn Hytes, a Toronto-born drag queen and ballet dancer, was the runner up in season 11, while Brooklyn native Monet X Change took the crown in season 4 of All Stars.

Those who frequent drag shows in Victoria will recognize some familiar local icons, as artists Henrietta Dubet, Lola Maneata, Persi Flage, Shelita Cox, and Vivian Vanderpuss take the stage.

Cox is perhaps best known for her Drag Sundays show at Paparazzi Nightclub every Sunday night, where she invites fledgling drag performers to come hone their performance.

In addition to RuPaul stars and local artists, the cast will consist of 10 travelling Canadian drag stars, all introduced and hosted by Vancouver-based drag queen Joan-E.

Last year’s debut of ‘It’s Just Drag’ in Victoria was held at the 772-seat Macpherson Playhouse and sold out within 24 hours of tickets going on sale.

So this year, the producers prepared for the excitement by hosting the show at the 1,416-seat capacity Royal Theatre.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 6th at 10 a.m., so be prepared!
