The Saanich Police Department are asking for the public’s help in collecting more information about a series of recent fires.

In a tweet sent out on Thursday, December 12th, Saanich PD reported that several small fires had been set over the past few weeks.

The fires resulted in minor property damage. Police have not stated whether they broke out on public or private property.

In a phone call with Victoria Buzz, Cst. Markus Anastasiades confirmed that four fires in total — two last week and two this week — were being investigated.

He was not able to provide any other information due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

“As we continue to investigate, we urge the public to continue to report any fires they see, no matter the nature,” the tweet from Saanich PD reads.

If you have information on the fires, you can contact Saanich PD’s non-emergency number at 250-475-4321 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
