On December 19th 2019, the West Shore RCMP located and arrested two men, both wanted for serious criminal offences. 

Their arrests were unrelated, but the two warrants spanned the breadth of the country.

The first arrest was made by the West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit. 23-year-old Tuan Nguyen-Mitchell was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant issued by Charlottetown Police Service for selling cocaine, and was arrested near Uptown Mall after RCMP received information on his whereabouts.

The second warrant was closer to home. The RCMP’s Bike Patrol Unit located and arrested 52-year-old Darcy Hartman, who was wanted on a warrant issued by Saanich Police Department for being unlawfully at large. 

Hartman was found sleeping inside a vehicle at a gas station near the 400 block of Island Highway in View Royal. 

He has been turned over to the Saanich Police Department.
