It’s the first week of things going back to normal after the holidays, and it’s is a great chance to get up and perform something tonight — whether it’s comedy at SÜLT’s open mic, poetry at the Mint’s open mic, or maybe some traditional Irish music at Hermann’s Jazz Club with their open trad session!
Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria today, Monday January 6th.
Master fiddler Pierre Schryer and a different monthly special guest will present a one-hour mini-concert starting at 7:00 p.m., and then host a 90-minute Open Trad Music Session. This month’s special guest is Adam Dobres, a terrific guitarist and one of Victoria’s most talented musicians. This event is open to all ages, including audience members and session participants.

How’s your tight five? This is the perfect opportunity to test it out, at an encouraging and hilarious open mic comedy night at SÜLT Pierogi Bar. This week, the show is hosted by co-producer Bo Essery and features the absolutely tantalizing Evan McDonald!

Speaking of Open Mics, this event is open to any type of talent, whether it’s music, comedy, dance, spoken word, or poetry… you name it! Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. with the showcase starting at 8:30 p.m. and continuing until 11 p.m. There will be some instruments at the Mint to get some jams going, as well!
