But if you’re looking for hip-hop, Christmas trees, or just some good old dancing, we’ve also listed the best places for you to be tonight.

It’s a win-win-win-win!

A Taste of Victoria Food Tour

This 2-hour tour begins at the Victoria Public Market and includes stops at The Gates of Harmonious Interest, Fan Tan Alley, Market Square, Bastion Square, Trounce Alley, Government St., and the Inner Harbour Causeway. Depending on the day, there are between 6-8 tastings along the route, as we discuss the history and quirks of beautiful Victoria, B.C.

Tastings can include bread, pierogis, meatballs, craft beer, macarons, chocolate, and much more!

  • When: January 2nd, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Where: Starts at the Victoria Public Market, 1701 Douglas Street #6

Hip-Hop Karaoke

Hip Hop Karaoke was created for the inner Big Daddy Kane in all of us. Originating from hip-hop’s home in New York City, it’s your chance to spit your favorite rhymes (outside of the shower) at a dope venue in a great atmosphere. Be warned, though — there’s no teleprompter. This ain’t traditional karaoke!

  • When: January 2nd, 10:00 p.m.
  • Where: Lucky Bar, 517 Yates Street

Evan Crofton at Hermann’s

Head down to Hermann’s Jazz Club on Thursday, January 2nd to listen to the Evan Crofton trio play some great new music (and some fantastic old tunes too!). Evan Crofton performs and tours with Busty and the Bass, a Canadian electro-soul and hip hop band from Montreal, Quebec.

  • When: January 2nd, 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Hermann’s Jazz Club, 753 View Street

Festival of Trees Victoria

The Festival of Trees is back at the Bay Centre!  A community tradition that has become the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season in Victoria. Head down to the Bay Centre, grab your favourite holiday beverage, and tour the trees that have been beautifully decorated.

Support the BC Children’s Hospital by making a donation and voting for your favourite tree–you. Funds raised through this event help meet the most critical health needs of kids in BC.

  • When: Trees are on display until January 6 during opening hours
  • Where: The Bay Centre, 1150 Douglas Street

OK Charlie at Canoe Brewpub

OK Charlie brings the absolute best of both the modern and retro. Playing songs that fill dance floors, excite crowds, and leave people in the highest of spirits. Formed in Victoria BC, the band regularly plays to some of the most energetic and enjoyable crowds around.

  • When: January 2nd, 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Where: Canoe Brewpub, 450 Swift Street
