Sure, the holidays are a great time to drink and be merry. But who says that has to stop once the new year begins? Vessel Liquor and Cascadia are both hosting fun alcohol-centred events, with plenty of other fun happenings in and around the city today, January 9th! 

VINcabulary at Vessel Liquor 

In each VINcabulary class, the experts at Vessel Liquor take a closer look at one grape variety, style, or theme in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. With a maximum of 14 students per class,and with experienced and well-known instructors, the class is a personalized, specialized experience!

Premium Tastings – Beam Whisky

If wine isn’t your drink, why not enjoy some whisky learning? Cascadia Liquor are celebrating the start of Whisky Month by opening up a few favourite bottles from the Beam Suntory group for customers to enjoy!

Royal BC Museum Happy Hour – Mindfulness

Join the RCBM on the second Thursday of the month for themed events and activities for adults, with drinks and light fare available for those interested. This Happy Hour is all about mindfulness. It’s time to trade in the rush of the holidays for a night at the museum liable to soothe any soul. Re-centre yourself for the New Year.

Ness Lee Mural Opening and Talk

This January, Toronto-based artist Ness Lee brings a new mural to Open Space!

The foyer mural will climb the entrance stairwell to the gallery, and is the third of such projects to welcome visitors into the gallery in the past three years. The mural will be in place in the gallery from January 9th until December, and tomorrow Ness Lee will speak to their work at a talk and opening reception event Thursday, January 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.!

Polesque

Kick off the new year in style, with a show that features pole acts, burlesque acts, and a number of acts that are a combination of the two!

Polesque is a monthly burlesque revue held at the Victoria Events Centre, hosted by Wet Coast Burlesque. It showcases local performers and artists while creating a supportive and welcoming environment for creative, progressive, and fun-loving adults. The organization thrives on artistry, empowerment, self-love, and taking every opportunity they can to celebrate life, and they promise to host shows that will leave you inspired, energized, sparkly-eyed, and at least a little glittery!
