BC Ferries have cancelled dozens of sailings to a windstorm affecting Vancouver Island on Friday, January 10th.
Select sailings on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen-Duke Point, Tsawwassen-Gulf Islands, Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay, Powell River-Comox, and Quadra Island-Cortes Island routes have been cancelled.
Sailings on the Swartz Bay-Gulf Islands, Prince Rupert-Port Hardy, Prince Rupert-Skidegate, and Mid-Coast routes are all running with either delayed or modified times.
Ferries on the Campbell River-Quadra Island and Denman Island-Hornby Island routes were affected earlier in the day, but both are operating normally now, starting with 11 a.m. sailings.

The weather currently bashing the island has triggered an Extreme Weather Warning in Victoria.
A head of the front southeast winds of 60 to 80 km/h developed early Friday morning over Southern Gulf Islands, the north and central sections of East Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast – Saltery Bay to Powell River, as well as Victoria near Haro Strait.
The winds are expected to ease midday Friday as the front moves away from the region.

Departure Bay-Horseshoe Bay

Powell River-Comox
