It’s the maritime event of the month in Victoria!
Two new BC Ferries vessels were unloaded into the Pacific Ocean and tugged to the Point Hope Shipyard Friday afternoon.

A captivating drone video shared by BC Ferries captured the process of moving the ships from their transport carrier to the shipyard, and then through Victoria’s inner harbour.
The two vessels are part of a new hybrid-electric class, which will eventually be converted into BC Ferries’ fully-electric fleet once the appropriate charging infrastructure is made available.
The pair of ferries were transported via a carrier vessel called the ‘Sun Rise’, which traveled all of the way from Croatia, where the ships were originally built.
